Description
The Antlia H-Alpha 2" 4.5 nm EDGE is a professional-grade astrophotographic filter designed specifically for capturing the red light emitted by ionized hydrogen atoms. With a half-transmittance window width (FWHM) of 4.5 nm, this filter is ideal for photographing emission nebulae, where the registration of the hydrogen alpha (Hα) spectral line is crucial.
What sets the Antlia H-Alpha 2" 4.5 nm EDGE filter apart is its ability to effectively eliminate unwanted components from sodium and mercury lamps, while ensuring high transmission for the Hα spectral line. This makes it an indispensable tool for astrophotography. Crafted on a high-quality glass substrate, the filter minimizes the risk of internal light reflections that can compromise image quality.
Unlike conventional broadband filters, the Antlia H-Alpha 2" 4.5 nm EDGE filter boasts a steep slope of the transmittance window. This means that it maintains a high level of transmittance without significant decreases resulting from the shift of the maximum transmittance peak (CWL). Consequently, the Antlia 4.5nm EDGE family of filters is compatible with telescopes across a wide range of light and performs exceptionally well even with optical systems with a maximum light power of f/3.
Please note that the Ha filter is not recommended for visual or solar observations due to its specialized nature.
Highlights of the Antlia H-Alpha 2" 4.5 nm EDGE filter include:
Bandpass filter constructed on a high-quality optical substrate, offering maximum transmission for radiation at a wavelength of 656.3 nm.
Compatibility with astrographs with light intensity up to f/3, ensuring minimal signal loss during astrophotography.
Half bandwidth of transmission (FWHM) measuring 4.5 nm.
Optical density equivalent of OD5, guaranteeing efficient removal of light pollution.
