Description

The Antlia CaK 3 nm 1.25" filter is a specialized bandpass filter designed for capturing radiation emitted by ionized calcium atoms. This filter enables the acquisition of highly detailed images of various solar phenomena, such as sunspots and surface granulation, among others.

To create this filter, a multi-layer coating was applied to a double-polished substrate made from optical glass with high-temperature resistance. This construction ensures optimal performance for the Ca-K spectral line at 393 nm, with an impressively narrow half-width of just 3 nm. Consequently, images obtained using the Antlia CaK 3 nm 1.25" filter exhibit exceptional optical efficiency within its transmission band, while effectively blocking other spectral components, achieving optical densities at OD3 and OD5 levels.

Please note that the Antlia CaK 3 nm 1.25" filter is specifically designed for use with ultra-sensitive astronomical cameras and is not suitable for visual observations.
