Celestron's Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes offer impressive features despite their long focal length, presenting a compact design for easy transportation. The optical system begins with an aspherically figured Schmidt corrector plate that directs light onto a spherical main mirror. This mirror reflects the light to a secondary mirror and then back to the main mirror, passing through a central aperture to reach the focuser at the OTA's bottom. This closed system effectively eliminates air turbulence and protects against dust, ensuring consistently bright and clear images.

These telescopes provide excellent image quality, particularly suitable for planetary observation and astrophotography. Their versatile design allows for both celestial and terrestrial viewing, offering an aperture ratio conducive to astrophotography. The main mirror focusing mechanism ensures a wide range of focus options, while pre-loaded ball bearings minimize mirror shift.

Celestron CPC Mount:

The Celestron CPC mount offers secure mounting for Schmidt-Cassegrain scopes in a sturdy cast aluminum fork mount. While the telescope tube cannot be changed, this design enhances compactness, eliminates the need for heavy counterweights, and ensures excellent portability. The mount's rapid setup and alignment process make it exceptionally user-friendly, with a built-in spirit level for easy leveling.

SkyAlign technology simplifies the alignment process by utilizing a 16-channel GPS receiver to identify celestial objects for precise tracking. Following alignment, the telescope provides access to over 40,000 database objects and offers recommendations based on current time and location. Additional features include autoguider and PC connections, large coupling knobs for manual operation, and an ergonomic design for comfortable transportation.

The high-load-bearing tripod features stainless steel legs and a cast aluminum accessory shelf for stability, with spring-loaded mounting screws for quick setup. With permanent periodic error correction (PEC) and optional equatorial wedge compatibility, the CPC mount ensures precise tracking and optimal performance for astrophotography.
