The VX series of telescopes offers many of the premium features of the high-quality CT series at a more affordable price point. These VX instruments boast the same top-notch optics as the CT series and are accompanied by a Zygo interferometer report for quality assurance.

Each VX model is equipped with a straight 50mm finder and a quality 2" focuser (complete with a 1.25" adapter). Thanks to their lightweight aluminum tube construction, VX telescopes can be easily mounted, making them highly versatile. The precision-engineered, fan-cooled, 9-point suspension mirror cell provides impeccable support and cooling to the main mirror, ensuring consistent accuracy during prolonged observations, while effectively managing weight distribution with the nylon support points.

Optics N 200 (8"): The brightness and level of detail in telescope images are primarily determined by the size of the main mirror, which dictates the amount of light collected and transmitted to the eye or camera. With over 40% brighter images than their 6" (150mm) counterparts, the 8"-telescopes offer superior clarity. Additionally, the larger mirrors of the 8" models (33% larger than the 6") provide significantly more detailed images, allowing for higher magnifications.

Standard or Long? This series offers both standard and long focal length versions. The standard focal length, when coupled with a camera adaptor and camera, excels in capturing spectacular images of Deep Sky objects. The long (L) version, on the other hand, is optimized for stunning visual images at higher magnifications, making it ideal for planetary and lunar photography.

Mirror Cells: A telescope's optics can be compromised if not properly supported within the telescope's body. The VX telescopes feature a computer-optimized, anodized aluminum surface cell with a built-in cooling fan (12V DC) to prevent such issues. The 9-point, nylon66-tipped suspension system evenly distributes the mirror's load, ensuring optimal support.

Focuser ACU-2S: This high-quality 2” (50.8mm) Crayford focuser offers ultra-smooth operation, with a lower geared 10:1 ratio micro-adjustment for precise focusing with either eyepieces or cameras. Ideal for a range of cameras, including DSLRs and medium format CCD chips, its knurled knob securely locks the draw tube in position, guaranteeing sharp, flawless images.
