Traditionally, Dobsonian telescopes have offered large apertures at a modest cost. With the BlackDiamond Dobsonian, Sky-Watcher reimagines this classic with an innovative twist. Featuring a patented sliding rod design, transporting this telescope is remarkably easy. Moreover, this design allows for flexible adjustment of the focus point by sliding the rods in or out.

One common challenge with Dobsonian telescopes has been their inability to track celestial objects effectively, resulting in objects drifting out of view soon after being positioned. However, with the introduction of BlackDiamond Autotracking and BlackDiamond GoTo Dobsonians, Sky-Watcher offers a solution: a series featuring automatic tracking. Tedious manual guiding is no longer necessary, as these telescopes are fully capable of tracking celestial objects, even during high-magnification planetary observation.

Telescope and Mount:

Equipped with an 8-inch parabolic mirror, this BlackDiamond truss-tube Dobsonian offers a classic size for astronomical observation. Its f/5.9 aperture ratio and 2-inch focuser make it well-suited for observing extended nebulae, while also providing detailed views of planets such as Saturn with its prominent rings and the Cassini division. The telescope features a smooth-operating Crayford focuser for precise focusing adjustment, along with a T2 camera connector for astrophotography.

Truss-tube Dobsonians are favored by committed observers for their excellent portability, and Sky-Watcher's FlexTube Dobsonians offer exceptional ease of use. With only three tubes, they can be quickly collapsed for transportation and effortlessly extended for observing. Despite their simple design, these telescopes maintain stable collimation, ensuring consistent performance.

The built-in tracking capability allows for the photography of brighter objects, while the large light-gathering power enables captivating lunar and planetary astrophotography.
