Achieving precise polar alignment can be a daunting task, often requiring significant time and effort. Even after meticulous preparation, a simple bump to the mount can necessitate starting the alignment process over again. However, iOptron’s Center-balanced Equatorial Mounts (CEM), like the CEM25 and CEM60, feature an accessible polar scope, allowing for quick and precise alignment in just a few minutes. Yet, traditional methods often require uncomfortable positions, such as bending or kneeling.

The PoleMasterTM electronic polar scope simplifies this process by employing a straightforward concept: aligning the true north point with the rotation center of your R.A. axis. Installed at the front of the R.A. axis, this device utilizes a highly sensitive camera to capture images of the northern sky, revealing not only Polaris but also faint nearby stars. With this information, it calculates the precise position of the North Pole, as well as the rotation center of the R.A. axis. Displaying both points on the computer screen, the PoleMaster facilitates easy adjustment until precise alignment is achieved.
