TeleVue is renowned for its in-house eyepiece and telescope designs crafted by Al Nagler; our latest eyepieces redefine the concept of "in-house" innovation. Tele Vue President David Nagler conceived the idea for this eyepiece series, focusing on performance parameters that embody the fundamental characteristics, or ethos, of a Tele Vue eyepiece: exceptional contrast, comfortable eye relief, and full-field sharpness. Criteria were meticulously set to address astigmatism, field curvature, lateral color, angular magnification distortion correction, and low pupil sensitivity for daytime use.

While inherent sharpness is a hallmark of the optical design, contrast is elevated through the strategic use of flat-finished baffles and ultra-low reflectance, high-efficiency coatings tailored to the composition of each optical element.

The field area of this innovative eyepiece surpasses that of an 82° field by over 50%. Essentially, the TeleVue Ethos functions as multiple eyepieces in one, delivering the expansive true field size typical of longer focal length, narrower apparent field eyepieces, coupled with the advantages of increased power and a darker sky background.
