TeleVue has earned acclaim for its in-house eyepiece and telescope designs, championed by Al Nagler. Our latest eyepieces redefine the concept of "in-house" innovation. Proposed by TeleVue President David Nagler, this eyepiece series embodies the fundamental characteristics, or ethos, of a TeleVue eyepiece: exceptional contrast, comfortable eye relief, and full-field sharpness. Rigorous criteria were set to address astigmatism, field curvature, lateral color, angular magnification distortion correction, and low pupil sensitivity for daytime use.

While sharpness is inherent to the optical design, contrast is heightened through the strategic use of flat-finished baffles and ultra-low reflectance, high-efficiency coatings tailored to the composition of each optical element.

This new eyepiece boasts a field area over 50% larger than an 82° field. Essentially, the TeleVue Ethos represents multiple eyepieces in one, delivering the expansive true field size typical of longer focal length, narrower apparent field eyepieces, along with the benefits of increased power and a darker sky background.
