Description

Introducing the Vespera Dual Band Filter, a sophisticated dual narrowband interference filter engineered to elevate your astrophotography experience in both urban and natural settings.

This filter meticulously targets the wavelengths of Hydrogen Alpha (H-alpha) and Oxygen III (O-III), predominantly emitted by nebulae, to accentuate the contrast between celestial objects and the sky background. The result is a notable enhancement in image quality, characterized by crisper stars and finer details, making it an invaluable tool for capturing stunning nebula photographs.

Key Features:

  • Significant enhancement in photo quality
  • Particularly suited for nebula photography
  • Heightens the contrast between the sky background and celestial objects
  • Refines star clarity and image details
  • Custom-designed for seamless integration with Vespera telescopes

The optical precision of the Dual Band filter has been meticulously crafted by Vaonis engineers to ensure full aperture utilization without compromising the instrument's optical diameter. Equipped with an electronic micro-card, the lens ring enables Vespera to seamlessly detect and adapt to the Dual Band filter, optimizing observation and image processing parameters accordingly.

Transmission Curve:

The filter boasts a bandwidth of 12nm for each wavelength (O-III = 500.7nm, H-alpha = 656.3nm).

Usage Instructions:

  1. Designed exclusively for Vespera telescopes, the filter seamlessly fits into the optical arm. Simply remove the standard Vespera lens ring and insert the Dual Band filter until you hear a click.
  2. Confirm proper alignment by connecting Vespera to your mobile device and launching the Singularity app. The term "Dual" should be displayed in the Space Center and Instrument screens.
  3. Note that the Dual Band filter is not suitable for observing galaxies, as it attenuates a significant portion of the spectrum, impacting galaxy signal reception.
  4. Its utility for observing the Moon, individual stars, and planets is limited.
  5. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, and store the filter in its box after each use to prevent dust accumulation.
  6. If cleaning becomes necessary, gently wipe the filter using an optical wipe, microfiber cloth, feather duster, or air blower.
  7. Refrain from attempting to open the lens ring containing the filter.
