Description

Fog poses a significant challenge for amateur astronomers, particularly in cold or humid environments, where it can obscure telescope lenses and camera lenses, impacting observation and photography quality.

The Vespera hygrometer offers a smart solution by monitoring the temperature and humidity levels in your environment, pinpointing the conditions that lead to lens fogging on your observation station. It's especially beneficial for individuals residing in humid areas (such as near seas, oceans, rivers, lakes, or ponds) or regions with cold temperatures, including winter conditions near freezing point.

Anti-fogging system:

When connected to your Telescope, the hygrometer triggers Vespera's built-in demister upon reaching specific temperature and humidity thresholds. This demister generates heat around the lens, effectively dissipating fog and ensuring clearer viewing conditions and sharper images.

Enhanced focus:

Fog-induced condensation can affect the focus of Vespera's photo sensor, leading to longer initialization and acquisition times and reduced image sharpness. The hygrometer and its associated demisting system address these issues, improving both observation and photography outcomes.

Discreet design:

With a compact size of under 13mm, the hygrometer features an exceptionally small electronic board, seamlessly integrating into Vespera's optical arm without obstructing filter use. It automatically activates and deactivates the anti-fog system, providing hassle-free operation.

Installation:

Ensure Vespera is powered off before installing or removing the hygrometer. Carefully insert the hygrometer into the notch above the lens, replacing the standard Vespera lens ring. Securely tighten the sensor using the provided screwdriver to prevent movement. Confirm proper positioning by checking the ambient temperature and humidity readings on the Singularity app's Space Center and Instrument screen.

Additional tips:

  • Leave the hygrometer in place to avoid loss or damage.
  • Expect increased battery consumption when the demisting system is active.
  • To prevent fogging during temperature changes, acclimate Vespera outdoors for at least 30 minutes before observation sessions.
