Atik Camera Infinity Color

Introducing the Atik Infinity! From the outset, this camera was crafted with beginners in mind. Its sensitivity allows for displaying images of the brightest objects in just a few seconds. What sets it apart is the brand new software enabling real-time stacking. With very short exposures (like 5 seconds), the first image may appear noisy, but subsequent ones improve, with the software even adjusting for field rotation.

Description

Introducing the Atik Infinity! From the outset, this camera was crafted with beginners in mind. Its sensitivity allows for displaying images of the brightest objects in just a few seconds. What sets it apart is the brand new software enabling real-time stacking. With very short exposures (like 5 seconds), the first image may appear noisy, but subsequent ones improve, with the software even adjusting for field rotation. No polar alignment or precise tracking needed! If your drive is poor and even 5-second exposures are uncertain, the software identifies a trailed image and omits it. This innovation extends imaging capabilities even to lower-end telescope drives.

Using the Infinity results in images of objects impossible to discern through an eyepiece alone. It effectively simulates doubling the aperture of any telescope where it's installed.

A camera for everyone!

For Beginners: Even with modest telescopes, capturing the night sky's wonders in unprecedented clarity and detail is possible. No complicated alignment routines or software needed, with a gentle learning curve.

For Outreach: Educators showcasing the night sky to broader audiences find the Infinity an invaluable tool, whether presenting to 10 people or thousands worldwide.

For Experienced Astroimagers: Yes, even them! How often have you hesitated when asked by family or friends to share your expensive telescope? Now, with the Infinity on your guide scope (it's an excellent autoguider too!), you can showcase the universe to them almost in real-time, without disturbing your meticulously set-up equipment.

The Atik Infinity is Atik Camera's first dedicated to video astronomy, boasting the speed and sensitivity required for this rewarding technique.

The Infinity features a Sony ICX825 sensor embedded with EXview HAD CCD II™ technology, offering outstanding sensitivity and Quantum Efficiency at a resolution suited to near real-time viewing. Its generous 6.45µm pixel size suits a broad range of telescopes, while its slim, rectangular design ensures clearance on fork-mounted scopes. This versatility caters to setups ranging from novice to professional observatories.

New Software: Accompanying the Infinity is custom software dedicated to video astronomy. It features a simple, intuitive user interface for optimal usability without compromising on control or performance. Live continuous stacking minimizes background noise, ensuring more detailed views. Flexible histogram adjustments ensure no detail is missed. Integrated broadcasting features simplify sharing your sky experiences, while voiceover and live web chat create interactive sessions. The software also enables session recording and interactive replay, maintaining full control when sharing sessions with others.

The Perfect Outreach Tool: Video astronomy excels in public outreach and educational settings. It reveals faint objects in incredible detail to all involved, maintaining the 'at the telescope' feeling without crowding around an eyepiece. With a choice of mono or color sensors, the Infinity caters to those valuing detail and those exploring color beyond the human eye's sensitivity.

Multi-purpose: Unlike other video astronomy cameras adapted from guide or security cameras, the Infinity is based on a high-end, fully-fledged 16-bit camera developed for OEM use in microscopy and inspection. It's a no-compromise solution for capturing high-quality images at live view frame rates, even for demanding users.

Furthermore, the Infinity serves as an exceptional guide camera, featuring a standard ST4 guide port for direct mount connection. It's also fully compatible with all existing software packages, serving as an entry-level imaging camera.

Our acclaimed Capture software is included for camera control and data acquisition, with plug-ins for Astroart and Maxim DL. A universal (110-230V) power adapter is optional.
