The lowercase "a" designates an astromodified version of this camera: Typically, these cameras are fitted with filters that dampen the red spectral range, aligning the sensor's color perception with that of human daytime vision. However, this poses a challenge in astronomy, as it includes the critical H-alpha line, crucial for capturing the glow of astronomical gas nebulae. Consequently, this filter is removed during astromodification.

Astromodified DSLRs boast heightened sensitivity to red wavelengths, particularly in the H-alpha or SII ranges, compared to their original counterparts. This enhancement enables the capture of gas nebulae in the sky, leveraging the large sensor to its full potential.

Astromodified DSLRs offer numerous advantages for astrophotography:

• Ideal for expansive nebulae, thanks to their large chip and heightened sensitivity in the H-alpha range.
• Built-in computer functionality eliminates the need for a laptop or external power supply, reducing cable clutter.
• Versatile applications with ample accessories available.
• LiveView monitor functionality.

The astromodification process is conducted by AstroHobby in Italy, involving the replacement of the original Canon filter. Different versions of astromodification are available:

• Baader Astromodification: Utilizing the Baader Planetarium BCF filter, developed in Germany, this modification permits light with wavelengths of 420-680 nm to reach the sensor, resulting in four times higher sensitivity to H-alpha compared to an unmodified camera.
• Super UV/IR-Cut Astromodification: Similar to the Baader Filter, this modification expands the transmitted spectral range from 400-700 nm, capturing all visible light with your camera.
• Full Range Astromodification: This modification renders the camera sensitive to ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light (starting at 300 nm), offering flexibility for various applications. With additional filters, this camera can be used for daylight photography, infrared imaging, or astrophotography.

The astromodified camera is delivered with the same accessories as the original manufacturer's camera: camera body, battery, charger, USB cable, and manual.

Please note: During astromodification, the original packaging of the cameras is opened, and photos are taken for testing purposes, resulting in a non-zero counter. However, the cameras are not used. Any used goods are clearly labeled as such in our shop.
