William Optics Adjustable Flattener Reducer Flat73R for ZenithStar 73
The flattener serves as a corrective lens to rectify the slight curvature introduced by the primary optics, ensuring uniform field illumination. This curvature often causes stars at the field's edge to appear less sharp. Also known as a field flattener, this accessory eliminates this effect, enabling astrophotographers to capture sharp stars throughout the entire exposure.

Description
The flattener serves as a corrective lens to rectify the slight curvature introduced by the primary optics, ensuring uniform field illumination. This curvature often causes stars at the field's edge to appear less sharp. Also known as a field flattener, this accessory eliminates this effect, enabling astrophotographers to capture sharp stars throughout the entire exposure.
Crafted to the highest standards, this flattener adopts an FMC Triplet Apo Design, featuring premium optical glasses sourced from Ohara, Japan.
Installation: The flattener securely attaches to the focuser thread. Simply unscrew the colored anodized end piece, depicted in the accompanying image. While this piece is used for attaching a socket, it becomes unnecessary when using a flattener. However, it's advisable to keep it safe if you intend to use the lens visually with a diagonal mirror. The flattener effortlessly screws into the focuser's thread.
A T2 thread is provided for mounting a camera. For DSLR usage, employ the appropriate T2/bayonet adapter compatible with your camera brand. This ensures a robust and stable system without any tilting.
The flattener offers adjustability. Set the correct distance and secure it using the knurled locking ring, eliminating the need for a separate extension sleeve.
Filters can be directly screwed onto the flattener using the M48 thread. Simply unscrew the end piece on the camera side to access the M48 thread for filter attachment. Reassemble the flattener, and you're ready to go!
