Description

The Astronomik UHC filter is the ultimate choice for visual deep-sky observation. It enhances visibility of stars and reveals intricate details in gas and planetary nebulae, outperforming filters from other manufacturers. This Ultra High Contrast filter transmits nearly 100% of O-III and H-beta radiation while effectively blocking scattered light and artificial wavelengths, such as sodium and mercury streetlights. Its strong suppression of skyglow unveils a wealth of detail in emission nebulae, even under light-polluted skies. Additionally, it features a secondary bandpass for H-alpha radiation, making it suitable for electronic imaging devices.
 
Main use: The Astronomik UHC filter is optimized for telescopes with focal ratios between f/4 and f/15. It works effectively with small telescopes starting at 50mm aperture, providing excellent views of deep-sky objects without significant chromatic distortions or transmission losses. Its high optical quality ensures needle-sharp stars, comparable to observations without a filter. The filter is also highly durable, resistant to scratches, humidity, and aging effects, ensuring long-term reliability.
