The Astronomik UHC is specifically designed for visual observing and offers unparalleled performance.

With the Astronomik UHC filter, you’ll experience more stars and finer details in deep-sky objects compared to filters from other manufacturers. This Ultra High Contrast (UHC) filter ensures nearly 100% transmission of light from the O-III and H-beta lines. While the H-alpha transmission window is not intended for visual observing, it plays a crucial role when using the filter with electronic devices. The filter effectively blocks scattered light from other wavelengths, including artificial light pollution, making gas and planetary nebulae appear with remarkable detail against a dark sky background.

Main Use:
The Astronomik UHC filter’s exceptional light transmission enhances deep-sky object visibility even in smaller telescopes. Its high optical quality ensures enough light passes through for successful observations with telescopes starting at 2" (50mm) aperture. The filters are optimized for telescope focal ratios between f/4 and f/15. Transmission losses or chromatic distortions are minimal, only becoming noticeable with extremely bright aperture ratios of 1:2 or more. One standout feature of the Astronomik UHC filter is its superior optical glass quality. When using this filter, you’ll enjoy the same pin-sharp stars you’re accustomed to seeing through your telescope without any filter.
