Astronomik Filters UHC SC (43702)

Using the Astronomik UHC filter will enhance your stargazing experience, allowing you to see more stars and finer details in deep-sky objects compared to filters from other manufacturers. This Ultra High Contrast (UHC) filter transmits nearly 100% of the light from O-III and H-beta spectral lines, while effectively blocking scattered light and artificial pollution. Although the H-alpha band is not intended for visual use, it is beneficial when paired with electronic devices.

Description

Using the Astronomik UHC filter will enhance your stargazing experience, allowing you to see more stars and finer details in deep-sky objects compared to filters from other manufacturers. This Ultra High Contrast (UHC) filter transmits nearly 100% of the light from O-III and H-beta spectral lines, while effectively blocking scattered light and artificial pollution. Although the H-alpha band is not intended for visual use, it is beneficial when paired with electronic devices. By significantly reducing the sky background, this filter reveals intricate details in gas and planetary nebulae.

Exceptional Performance and Versatility
The Astronomik UHC filter ensures outstanding results even with small telescopes starting at 2" (50mm) aperture. Its high transmission provides sufficient light for successful observations, while its design is optimized for telescopes with focal ratios between f/4 and f/15. Unlike other filters, it maintains pinpoint star images without chromatic distortion or transmission loss, except in extreme cases with focal ratios faster than f/2. The high optical quality of the glass ensures sharp, clear views comparable to observing without a filter.

Durability and Design
This filter features multi-layer coatings that are scratch-resistant, moisture-proof, and immune to aging effects. Its robust construction guarantees long-lasting performance. Additionally, it is parfocal with other Astronomik filters, eliminating the need for refocusing when switching between filters.

Specifications:

  • Passband: 480–505 nm & 645–700 nm
  • Transmission: 97%
  • Frame: SC thread aluminium mount
  • Coating: Multi-layered for durability
  • Glass thickness: 1 mm

Applications:
The Astronomik UHC filter is ideal for observing deep-sky objects under both dark skies and light-polluted conditions. It is suitable for telescopes of all apertures and works exceptionally well with imaging devices, especially when combined with an additional IR-block filter.

With its superior performance, durability, and versatility, the Astronomik UHC filter is an essential tool for amateur and professional astronomers seeking enhanced contrast and detail in their observations and astrophotography.
