Astronomik Filters UHC-E XL Nikon Z XL (72167)

The Astronomik UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter is a top-tier choice for visual astronomy, offering nearly 100% transmission of O-III and H-beta radiation. This ensures that users can observe more stars and finer details in deep-sky objects compared to filters from other manufacturers. While the H-alpha band is not designed for visual use, it becomes valuable when paired with electronic devices.

Description

The Astronomik UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter is a top-tier choice for visual astronomy, offering nearly 100% transmission of O-III and H-beta radiation. This ensures that users can observe more stars and finer details in deep-sky objects compared to filters from other manufacturers. While the H-alpha band is not designed for visual use, it becomes valuable when paired with electronic devices. The filter effectively blocks scattered light and artificial light pollution, delivering a darker sky background and revealing intricate details in gas and planetary nebulae.

Exceptional Performance

Astronomik UHC filters are highly efficient, even with small telescopes starting at a 2" (50mm) aperture. They are optimized for focal ratios between f/4 and f/15, ensuring minimal chromatic distortions or transmission losses. Only extremely fast focal ratios (f/2 or below) may experience minor issues. The high optical quality of the filter glass ensures sharp star images, comparable to observations without any filter.

Technical Specifications

  • Passband: 465–530 nm & >645 nm
  • Filter Thickness: 1 mm
  • Coating: Multi-layer, resistant to scratches, humidity, and aging
  • Compatibility: Suitable for Nikon cameras and various telescopes

The Astronomik UHC filter is ideal for both visual observation and astrophotography under light-polluted skies. Its durability and optical precision make it a reliable tool for astronomers seeking enhanced views of the night sky.
