Astrozap AstroSolar telescope solar filter, 90mm-100mm (45984)

AstroSolar™ film offers a neutral white view of the Sun, unlike other filters that produce bluish or reddish images, which can obscure parts of the solar spectrum. This neutral color balance enhances visibility of solar features such as faculae regions, which are most prominent in the blue part of the spectrum. Additionally, it allows the use of color or interference filters to focus on specific spectral bands, enabling detailed observations of different layers within the Sun's atmosphere.

AstroSolar™ is coated on both sides, making it virtually free from pinholes and ensuring superior optical quality compared to even the most expensive glass filters. The chance of overlapping pinholes is extremely low, with pinholes occurring in only 1 out of 10,000 cases in optical density 2.5. This film has been rigorously tested and approved for eye safety by Germany's National Bureau of Standards (PTB) and is CE-certified according to EG-Norm 89/686 and EN 169/92. The filter cell is made from lightweight 18Ga aluminum, powder-coated white, and features heavy-duty threaded inserts and nylon thumbscrews for a secure fit.
