Astrozap AstroSolar solar filter, 110mm - 120mm (45985)

AstroSolar™ film provides a neutral white view of the Sun, setting it apart from other filters that produce bluish or reddish solar images, which can obscure parts of the spectrum. This neutral color balance makes it easier to observe solar features like faculae regions, which are primarily visible in the blue part of the spectrum. It also supports the use of additional color or interference filters, enabling observers to focus on specific spectral bands for detailed studies of different layers of the Sun's atmosphere.

AstroSolar™ is coated on both sides, ensuring it is virtually free from pinholes and offering superior optical quality compared to even high-end glass filters. The likelihood of overlapping pinholes is extremely low, occurring only in 1 out of 10,000 cases in optical density 2.5. This film has been rigorously tested and approved for eye safety by Germany's National Bureau of Standards (PTB) and is CE-certified according to EG-Norm 89/686 and EN 169/92. The filter cell is crafted from lightweight 18Ga aluminum, powder-coated white for durability, and features heavy-duty threaded inserts and nylon thumbscrews to ensure a secure fit.
