Astrozap AstroSolar solar filter, for 104mm-114mm (45987)

AstroSolar™ film provides a neutral white view of the Sun, unlike other filters that produce bluish or reddish images, which can obscure parts of the solar spectrum. This neutral color balance makes it easier to observe solar features like faculae regions, which are most visible in the blue part of the spectrum. Additionally, it supports the use of color or interference filters, allowing observers to focus on specific spectral bands for detailed investigations of different layers within the Sun's atmosphere.

AstroSolar™ is coated on both sides, making it virtually free from pinholes and offering superior optical quality compared to even the most expensive glass filters. The likelihood of overlapping pinholes is extremely low, occurring only in 1 out of 10,000 cases in optical density 2.5. Rigorously tested and approved for eye safety by Germany's National Bureau of Standards (PTB), AstroSolar™ is also CE-certified according to EG-Norm 89/686 and EN 169/92. Its coatings are consistently inspected to ensure safety and reliability. The filter cell is made from lightweight 18Ga aluminum, powder-coated white for durability, and features heavy-duty threaded inserts and nylon thumbscrews for a secure and stable fit.
