Astrozap AstroSolar solar filter, 288mm-298mm (45989)

AstroSolar™ film provides a neutral white view of the Sun, unlike other filters that produce bluish or reddish images, which can obscure parts of the solar spectrum. This neutral color balance makes it easier to observe solar features like faculae regions, which are most visible in the blue part of the spectrum. It also allows for the use of color or interference filters, enabling observers to focus on specific spectral bands for detailed studies of different layers within the Sun's atmosphere.

AstroSolar™ is coated on both sides, ensuring it is virtually free from pinholes and offering superior optical quality compared to even the most expensive glass filters. The chance of overlapping pinholes is extremely low, occurring only in 1 out of 10,000 cases in optical density 2.5. This film has been rigorously tested for safety and approved by Germany's National Bureau of Standards (PTB). It is CE-certified according to EG-Norm 89/686 and EN 169/92, with all manufacturing processes thoroughly inspected to ensure consistency and eye safety. The filter cell is made from lightweight 18Ga aluminum, powder-coated white for durability, and features heavy-duty threaded inserts and nylon thumbscrews for a secure fit.
