Description

The Baader Alan Gee II Telecompressor is a versatile optical accessory designed for all Schmidt-Cassegrain (SC) telescopes. It provides a variable reduction factor from f/3.5 to f/5.9, making it ideal for astrophotographers who need to increase the field of view and reduce exposure times. Its advanced design ensures compatibility with both visual and photographic applications, offering flexibility for use with accessories such as bino-viewers, star diagonals, and CCD cameras. The Alan Gee II is particularly effective for achieving a flat image field with minimal vignetting and distortion.

Unlike standard telecompressors, the Alan Gee II can be configured to suit different setups. For photographic use, it can be inserted into the telescope’s baffle tube, while for visual observation, it can be mounted directly in front of bino-viewers or star diagonals. The system features air-spaced doublet achromatic lenses with multi-coatings for maximum light transmission and sharpness. The optimal backfocus distance is 121 mm from the rear lens surface to the camera sensor or eyepiece focal plane, ensuring precise correction and performance.
