Description

The Baader Stronghold Tangent Assembly is a durable and versatile mounting accessory developed by Baader Planetarium. It is designed to securely hold finder scopes, guide scopes, or heavy telephoto lenses on your main telescope while allowing precise adjustment. Made from hard anodized aluminum, it supports equipment weighing up to 7 kg and ensures stability and reliability for astrophotography or observation.

General Mounting Options:
The included EQ clamp (Vixen standard) can be mounted either on the top or base of the assembly.

Adjustment Mechanism:
The Stronghold Tangent Assembly uses four external adjusting screws for precise alignment. To adjust, loosen one screw while tightening the opposing screw, allowing precise positioning of the mounted accessory (e.g., Baader Vario Finder, camera, spotting scope, or guide scope). Once aligned, tighten all adjustment screws to lock the assembly securely in place.

A stainless steel locking dowel is included for maximum rigidity. The dowel is stored in a holder on the azimuth blocks upon delivery. To lock the elevation or azimuth axes, insert the dowel into the clamping screw and turn it clockwise a few degrees. To unlock, loosen the locking knob slightly before readjustment. This ensures stability and precision during use.
