This complete set includes everything needed to track a camera with a photo lens to the night sky's rotation. It enables long-exposure shots of large star fields and other stunning celestial photographs with ease.

The photo mount features a stepper motor that compensates for the Earth's rotation by moving the mount's axis ("hour axis") at the same speed as the stars ("sidereal"). This ensures that the camera stays focused on the desired area of the sky throughout the exposure.

Simple Polar Alignment:
Aligning the mount is straightforward. Aim the integrated polarscope at Polaris, and the hour axis will align parallel to Earth's axis for accurate tracking.

Camera Attachment:
The included ball head with a quick-release plate allows easy attachment of cameras with standard photo threads (1/4" and 3/8"). The camera can then be aligned to your desired target in the sky. To use, the camera only requires a long-exposure setting and a lens. Typical exposure times with good tracking accuracy are:

• Wide-angle lens (16mm–35mm): 10 minutes (600 seconds)

• Telephoto lens (200mm): 5 minutes (300 seconds)

Power Options:
The mount is battery-powered, and a battery compartment is included. Alternatively, an optional power supply unit can be connected via a 6V DC socket (5.5/2.5mm, positive pole inside). The battery life is approximately 50 hours.

Tripod Features:
The height-adjustable stainless-steel tripod is designed for this photo mount and includes a polar wedge for precise alignment. The mount attaches to the cradle with a 1/4" photo thread screw and can be fine-tuned for azimuth and latitude adjustments using large toggle screws. If Polaris is not visible, short exposure times can still be achieved using the altitude scale and an optional compass. A bubble level integrated into the tripod head ensures easy leveling.
