Description

This telescope is an excellent choice for beginners, offering high-quality optical elements that deliver sharp and high-contrast images. It is versatile, suitable for lunar and planetary observation, as well as terrestrial and nature watching. The permanently mounted red dot finder allows for quick and easy object location, while the 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser ensures smooth and precise focus adjustments. The optical tube assembly (OTA) attaches to the mount using a standard dovetail rail, and the entire telescope can be assembled within minutes without tools or prior experience.

N 76/700 Optics:
The Omegon 76/700 AZ telescope is an entry-level reflector that opens up views of celestial wonders such as Jupiter's Galilean moons, Saturn's rings, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Orion Nebula. With a 76mm aperture, it collects 118 times more light than the naked eye. The spherical mirror with a 700mm focal length produces crisp images, making it ideal for beginners. The barrel includes a focuser compatible with modern eyepieces, enabling optimal resolution for observations.

The telescope is mounted on an adjustable aluminum tripod with an azimuthal fork mount. This setup allows easy movement in azimuth and height adjustment without requiring prior alignment. Its simplicity makes it perfect for beginners to start observing right away.

Celestron CG-2 Mount:
The CG-2 equatorial mount is designed for telescopes weighing up to approximately 3 kg. It features setting circles on both axes and manual fine adjustments via flexible slow-motion controls for precise tracking. While slightly less robust than the larger CG-3 mount, it provides sufficient stability for smaller telescopes. The height-adjustable tripod has tubular steel legs (1.25" diameter) for a stable and vibration-free platform. An accessory tray is included to keep essential items close at hand.

The right ascension axis of this mount can be retrofitted with a motor for automatic tracking, which is included with Astromaster MD models.

Included with the Mount:

  • CG-2 equatorial mount

  • Adjustable tubular steel tripod

  • Accessory tray
