Description
Celestron’s PowerSeeker series is designed for beginners, offering affordable telescopes that make exploring the night sky accessible and enjoyable. These telescopes are perfect for those starting out in astronomy and make a thoughtful gift for students or anyone curious about the universe.
Even the smallest PowerSeeker model, with a 50mm aperture, allows you to observe craters on the Moon, Jupiter’s four largest moons, and Saturn’s rings. Deep-sky objects like the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy are also visible. Larger models, such as the 114mm and 127mm PowerSeekers, provide enhanced capabilities, revealing Jupiter’s cloud bands, surface features on Mars, smaller galaxies, and planetary nebulae. The increased aperture size significantly improves light-gathering capacity, making these telescopes a great stepping stone into more advanced amateur astronomy.
The Celestron CG-1 Mount
The CG-1 equatorial mount is designed to support telescopes weighing up to approximately 3kg. It features setting circles on both axes for manual fine adjustments, which can be controlled using flexible slow-motion cables. While the declination axis is slightly less robust than the right ascension axis, it still provides sufficient fine adjustment for beginner use. The preassembled aluminum tripod offers a stable and vibration-free platform for both the mount and telescope. An accessory tray is included to keep essential tools within reach during observations.
For added functionality, a motor for automatic tracking can be retrofitted to the right ascension axis and is included with MD models.

-
Parallactic CG-1 mount
-
Aluminum tripod
-
