The LRGB filter set is designed to produce stunning color images of the night sky when used with a monochrome CCD camera. Monochrome cameras excel in astrophotography by utilizing all the pixels on the chip, resulting in bright, high-resolution images of deep-sky objects. In contrast, cameras with color CCD chips reduce resolution since approximately one-third of their pixels are filtered for color. By combining a monochrome camera with an LRGB filter set, you can achieve full-chip resolution and create high-quality color images.

Luminance Filter (L):
The luminance filter transmits the entire visible light spectrum while blocking near-UV and IR light. This ensures that all critical object details are captured for sharp, high-resolution imaging.

RGB Filters:
The RGB filters isolate specific wavelengths of light corresponding to the primary colors—red, green, and blue. These filters are used to capture each color channel individually. When combined during image processing, the RGB channels reproduce all visible colors, similar to how human vision perceives colors using internal RGB receptors.

The four images captured through the LRGB channels are processed together to create a final, high-resolution color photograph.
