Description

This deep sky astro-camera is a complete package for creating high-quality astronomical photos and videos. It features a CMOS sensor with active cooling, allowing you to capture galaxies, star clusters, the Moon, and planets with high definition and low noise. The camera's fast USB 3.0 interface enables quick image transfer within seconds.

Attachment and Compatibility

The camera can be attached to your telescope's drawtube using the internal T2 thread (M42, 0.75mm) or connected with the supplied 2" plug-in adapter, which includes a filter thread.

Software and Drivers

Before connecting the camera to your computer, install the supplied camera drivers and EXPLORE Capture software. This software offers basic functions for capturing images and videos, as well as special features for post-processing and camera setup. These include live image display, exposure settings, white balance, dark image capture, stacking, timelapse recordings, and more.

CMOS Sensor and Cooling System

The camera's highly-sensitive CMOS sensor can be cooled to around 40°C below ambient temperature using two-stage thermoelectric cooling. This results in very low noise and fewer hot pixels compared to normal DSLR cameras, producing sharper and brighter images with more usable information.

Additional Features

  • Built-in USB hub with two USB 2.0 ports for connecting an autoguider camera or motorized focuser

  • Sturdy carrying case included

Visual Fields

The camera provides various visual fields depending on the focal length, ranging from 151' x 114' (2.5 x 1.9 degrees) at 400mm to 30' x 23' (0.5 x 0.4 degrees) at 2000mm.
