Description
The guidescope is mounted parallel to the main telescope tube, ideally using guidescope rings that allow for easy adjustment. A camera can be attached to the guidescope, enabling automatic tracking control of the mount. This setup is ideal for capturing long-exposure images of the night sky.
Cameras for guiding: Cameras with a 1.25" socket can be easily connected to the guidescope, making them suitable for guiding purposes.
Finder and guidescope combination:
-
The instrument can also function as a finder scope thanks to its eyepiece unit. The eyepiece features an illuminated crosshair that can be focused independently, offering superior image sharpness and a better viewing experience compared to standard finder scopes. The resulting image field is bright and clear, with a very large field of view that simplifies locating and tracking objects.
-
By removing the eyepiece unit, the finder transforms into a guidescope equipped with a helical focuser. A camera can be connected via the 1.25" connector or the T2 thread.
Additional finder shoe:
The bracket for this finder and guidescope is made entirely of aluminum, providing a stable base. It is compatible with many common telescopes, particularly those from Explore Scientific and Bresser's Messier series. If your telescope's finder shoe is not compatible, you can replace it with the supplied finder shoe, which attaches to the telescope tube using four M5 screws. The drilled holes on the finder shoe are spaced 31.7mm apart on both longitudinal and transverse axes.
Guidescope rings:
The six large adjusting screws with easy-grip edges make it simple to align the finder, even in cold conditions when fingers may be numb. All adjusting and clamping screws are equipped with plastic tips to prevent scratching of the viewfinder housing or holder.
