Description

The Levenhuk Rainbow D2L 0.3M Digital Microscope, Moonstone, is an ideal gift for students. It allows for a wide range of exciting experiments using prepared slides or everyday objects that spark a young scientist’s curiosity. The included digital camera makes it easy to capture and document research results. Even beginners can take impressive photos and videos to share with friends on social media.

High-Quality Optics

The lenses are made from special optical glass with high transparency. All optical surfaces are coated with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating, resulting in sharp, high-contrast, and detailed images. The three objectives provide a magnification range from 40x to 400x. To change magnification, simply rotate the objective turret.

Digital Camera Features

This microscope comes with a high-quality 0.3-megapixel digital camera. The camera replaces the eyepiece and connects to a computer via the included USB cable. Enlarged images of the samples are displayed on the computer monitor, making observation more comfortable than looking through an eyepiece. You can also take photos and record videos of your observations, making it easy to share your discoveries. Whether it’s a close-up of a sugar crystal or a video of brine shrimp, sharing your research is simple and fun.

The USB cable powers the camera and connects it to the PC. Compatible operating systems: Windows.

Observation of Transparent and Opaque Samples

The microscope is equipped with two LED illumination systems. The lower light source is used for viewing transparent samples, such as microorganisms in a drop of water or thin slices of plant tissue. The upper light source is for observing opaque objects like leaves, coins, textiles, paper, and more. For semi-transparent samples, both light sources can be used together. Brightness is adjustable for the best view of each sample.

Practical Design

The microscope body is made from high-quality plastic, making it much lighter than metal but still very durable and suitable for frequent use. The monocular head is inclined at 45° for comfortable viewing. The illumination can be powered by either an AC adapter or batteries. The digital camera is powered via USB from the computer.

Caution: In most European countries, the mains voltage is 220–240 V. If using the device in a country with a different voltage, a voltage converter is required.

Everything Needed for Exploring the Microcosmos

The microscope comes with the Levenhuk K50 Experiment Kit, which includes everything an aspiring biologist could want—from prepared slides to special tools for making your own samples. The included booklet provides all necessary information about the microscope, usage tips, and experiment instructions.
