The LS60MT is a specialized telescope designed for solar observation in H-alpha light, featuring a 60mm clear aperture H-alpha filter with no central obstruction. This design ensures especially sharp and detailed images, allowing the lens to achieve its full resolution potential. In H-alpha, you can observe solar prominences, filaments, and flares, making every solar viewing session both impressive and dynamic. The integrated etalon filter provides a bandwidth of less than 0.7 Angstrom for high-contrast solar imaging.

A key advantage of the LS60MT is its modular construction. The H-alpha etalon can be easily detached and replaced with a conversion kit (available separately), transforming the telescope into a high-quality ED apochromat with FPL-51 glass for night-time astronomy and astrophotography. You can also use a Herschel wedge for white light solar observation or a CaK module for viewing the Sun in the CaK spectral line, making this a truly universal instrument.

The block filter, essential for safe solar observation, is built into the diagonal and accepts 1.25” eyepieces and cameras, as well as T2-threaded accessories. For night-time use, the blocking filter is not required, and the focuser can accommodate 2” accessories.

The PT pressure tuner allows for precise adjustment of the etalon filter by changing the air pressure inside the telescope, ensuring uniform images and long-lasting performance. The B1200 blocking filter is ideal for visual solar observation and for solar photography with cameras that have small sensor chips. For larger sensors, a telescope with a bigger blocking filter is recommended.
