The Lunt LS130MT is a versatile telescope designed for observing the Sun in H-alpha light, featuring a half width of less than 0.7 Angstrom and equipped with a B1200 blocking filter. Its standout feature is its modular construction, allowing you to easily remove the H-alpha filter and use the telescope for night-time astronomy. The system is also expandable for additional solar observation options, such as using a Herschel wedge for white light or swapping in a Ca-K module.

The LS130MT is built with a high-quality triplet apochromat lens with an ED element, providing excellent color correction and sharpness. The f/7 focal ratio offers a balance between speed and magnification, making this telescope ideal for both solar and planetary observation. The included Feather Touch focuser from Starlight Instruments ensures smooth, precise focusing and supports 2” accessories, such as diagonal mirrors or camera adapters. The blocking filter, integrated into the supplied deflecting optics, is essential for safe solar observation and allows for both 1.25” eyepieces and T2-threaded camera connections.

The PT pressure tuner allows for fine-tuning of the Etalon filter by adjusting air pressure inside the telescope, ensuring precise and effortless alignment with the H-alpha spectral line. This system guarantees a uniform image with no central obstructions and a long-lasting, wear-resistant etalon.

The B1200 blocking filter is ideal for visual solar observation and is suitable for solar photography with cameras that have small sensor chips, such as planetary cameras. For cameras with medium or large sensors, a telescope with a larger blocking filter is recommended for proper sensor illumination.
