The LS40THa is a fully equipped telescope designed for observing the sun in H-alpha. It features a 40mm aperture with no central obstruction and a focal length of 400mm.

H-alpha Observing Experience

Observing the sun in the H-alpha wavelength is the most captivating way to view solar activity. This allows you to see features such as prominences at the sun’s edge, filaments, flares, and much more. The telescope uses an Etalon with mechanical tilt-tuning, providing a bandwidth of less than 0.7 Angstrom.

BF Blocking Filter

The blocking filter is integrated into the deflection optics along with the eyepiece receiver. Its purpose is to reduce the brightness of the solar image, making it an essential safety component that should never be removed. For visual observation, a small blocking filter is sufficient, but for photography, a larger blocking filter is recommended.
