They combine bright field, dark field, and simple polarization contrast with innovative segmental illumination, which provides oblique incident light. This feature is ideal for detecting scratches or other defects on flat, reflective surfaces without the need to reposition the sample.

The Panthera TEC BD models are equipped with LD Plan BD lenses that deliver excellent imaging performance and are mounted on a 5-position encoded nosepiece. The microscope automatically stores and recalls the light intensity for each lens position, ensuring consistent illumination when switching objectives. The compact epi-illumination system includes a polarizer and analyzer slot for polarization contrast and reducing internal reflections. Controls are provided to adjust incident light in both bright field and dark field modes, as well as the illumination angle. With a 22mm field of view, users benefit from a 21% larger visual area compared to standard 20mm systems. The trinocular version features a beam splitter set to 50/50 (visual/photo) with a 25° viewing angle.

Incident illumination is provided by a 3W LED with selectable color temperature, while the reflected/transmitted light stand for composite materials includes a transmitted light LED system with 39 LEDs in the condenser and a stage with a glass insert. Two stage sizes (6"x4" and 3"x2") offer flexibility for different sample dimensions. The Panthera TEC series bridges the gap in the Panthera family, allowing for easy and effective examination of opaque industrial samples with advanced optics, flexible configurations, and intelligent control features.
