Zoom Range

The SMZ-171 offers a 6.7:1 zoom ratio, providing a standard magnification range of 7.5x to 50x with parfocality throughout the entire zoom range. Auxiliary objectives and eyepieces can extend the total magnification from 2.25X up to 200X, allowing for both macro and micro observations.

Auxiliary Objectives

A standard working distance of 110mm allows for easy manipulation of samples at various magnifications. The maximum field diameter at the lowest zoom setting with 10X eyepieces is 30.7mm.

Eyepieces

Standard widefield 10x/23mm eyepieces are designed for comfort, even for glasses wearers, and feature individual diopter adjustments of +/- 5 dpt. Alternative magnifications and reticules for measurement are also available.

3-D Imaging

The Greenough optical system provides completely separated optical paths, resulting in impressive, distortion-free 3D images. The system achieves a high resolving power of up to 460 lp/mm with a 2x auxiliary objective.

Working Distance

The standard working distance is 110mm and can be extended up to 301mm with additional auxiliary objectives. For higher total magnification, high-magnification eyepieces can be used in combination with objectives less than 1X.

Optical Heads

Available in binocular or trinocular versions with a 45° viewing angle, 10X eyepieces, and a built-in 1X objective. The interpupillary distance is adjustable from 48mm to 75mm. An anti-fungus treatment allows use in humid environments, and a 60° viewing angle head is available for special setups.

Modular Configuration

The SMZ-171 supports a modular component system, including classic pole stands, new arm stands, and industrial boom stands for large samples. ESD versions are available for electrostatic-sensitive environments.

Illumination

A variety of illumination options are available, including ring lights for shadow-free imaging and unidirectional illuminators for surface structure visualization. The microscope can be paired with cold light sources and light guides as needed.

Digital Documentation

The SMZ-171 can be combined with Moticam digital cameras to create a complete analysis and documentation workstation. The trinocular version supports various camera adapters for different chip sizes.
