Description

The Nikon Software NIS Plug-in (cross table XY) is an extension for the NIS-Elements imaging platform that enables precise control and automation of XY stage movements during imaging experiments. This plug-in is especially useful in laboratory, research, and industrial settings where multi-point data acquisition, such as scanning well plates or creating large stitched images, is required. By integrating with motorized XY stages, the plug-in allows users to automate the selection and navigation of multiple sample positions, streamlining workflows for high-content imaging, time-lapse studies, and multi-dimensional experiments.


Facilitates automated control and programming of motorized XY stages within the NIS-Elements software environment, allowing for precise and repeatable positioning during imaging tasks.

 

Key Functions:

  • Enables users to define and manage multiple acquisition points across a sample, such as rows and columns in a well plate or specific coordinates on a slide

  • Integrates with the ND (N-dimensional) Acquisition dialog in NIS-Elements to support complex experiments, including time-lapse, Z-stack, and multi-channel imaging

  • Supports the creation, editing, and saving of well plate or custom position maps, including alignment and labeling of each position

  • Allows transfer of selected points to the acquisition workflow for automated imaging

Requires a compatible motorized XY stage and is supported in NIS-Elements packages such as Advanced Research (AR), Basic Research (BR), and Documentation (D), with appropriate modules installed.
