Optolong Filters H-alpha 7nm 1.25" (83199)

The H-alpha filter is designed to pass light at the 656nm wavelength, making it an excellent choice for narrowband astrophotography. It is ideal for capturing high-contrast images and revealing intricate details within nebulae, even in locations affected by significant light pollution. The filter allows a narrow 7nm bandwidth centered on 656nm, effectively blocking unwanted wavelengths produced by artificial lighting such as mercury vapor and sodium vapor lamps, as well as natural skyglow caused by neutral oxygen emission in the atmosphere.

Description

The H-alpha filter is designed to pass light at the 656nm wavelength, making it an excellent choice for narrowband astrophotography. It is ideal for capturing high-contrast images and revealing intricate details within nebulae, even in locations affected by significant light pollution. The filter allows a narrow 7nm bandwidth centered on 656nm, effectively blocking unwanted wavelengths produced by artificial lighting such as mercury vapor and sodium vapor lamps, as well as natural skyglow caused by neutral oxygen emission in the atmosphere.

This filter is highly popular among astrophotographers for its ability to isolate the H-alpha emission line, resulting in images with enhanced contrast and detail in emission nebulae.

This H-alpha filter is perfect for astrophotographers and visual observers who want to enhance the visibility of nebulae and galaxies while minimizing the effects of light pollution.
