Description
The QHY533M Mono is a new generation cooled monochrome deep sky camera designed for astrophotography, featuring the highly sensitive Sony IMX533 back-illuminated CMOS sensor. With 9 megapixels and 3.76 µm pixel size, this camera delivers low read noise, high quantum efficiency, and zero amplifier glow, making it especially effective for capturing faint astronomical objects. Its advanced two-stage TEC cooling system, anti-dew protection, and robust sealing ensure reliable performance during long exposures, even in challenging conditions. The camera is well-suited for both beginners and experienced astrophotographers, offering compatibility with filter wheels and various adapters for different telescope setups.
Back-Illuminated CMOS Sensor
The back-illuminated structure allows more photons to reach the photosensitive layer by placing the wiring beneath it, increasing quantum efficiency and sensitivity. This results in improved performance when imaging dim targets compared to traditional front-illuminated sensors.
Cooling and Anti-Dew Control
Dual-stage TEC cooling can bring the sensor temperature as much as 35°C below ambient, minimizing thermal noise. The camera includes a built-in dew heater and a sealed chamber with a silicon gel tube to prevent condensation and keep the sensor dry.
Zero Amp Glow and Low Noise
The QHY533M produces images with no amplifier glow, even during long exposures, and maintains low read noise, making it ideal for deep sky imaging.
Flexible Connectivity
The camera features a threaded interface for direct attachment to QHY filter wheels, Nikon or Canon lens adapters, and other accessories. Orientation can be easily adjusted for optimal sensor alignment.
