QHY Camera 533M Color (85345)

The QHY533C is a new generation color astrophotography camera featuring a back-illuminated Sony IMX533 CMOS sensor with 3.76 µm pixels. This sensor technology is shared with QHY’s flagship models, offering high sensitivity, low noise, and no amplifier glow. The back-illuminated design allows more light to reach the photosensitive layer by placing the wiring underneath, which increases quantum efficiency and makes the camera especially effective for capturing faint objects in the night sky.

Description

The QHY533C is a new generation color astrophotography camera featuring a back-illuminated Sony IMX533 CMOS sensor with 3.76 µm pixels. This sensor technology is shared with QHY’s flagship models, offering high sensitivity, low noise, and no amplifier glow. The back-illuminated design allows more light to reach the photosensitive layer by placing the wiring underneath, which increases quantum efficiency and makes the camera especially effective for capturing faint objects in the night sky. With advanced dual-stage cooling, anti-dew protection, and robust sealing, the QHY533C is well-suited for deep-sky, lunar, and planetary imaging, while also providing the convenience of one-shot color imaging without the need for additional filters.

Back-illuminated CMOS sensor
The sensor’s structure increases sensitivity by allowing more photons to be converted into electrons, resulting in better performance for dim targets compared to front-illuminated sensors.

Cooling and anti-dew control
Dual-stage TEC cooling can lower the sensor temperature by up to 35°C below ambient, reducing thermal noise. The camera includes a built-in dew heater and a sealed chamber with a silicon gel tube to prevent condensation and keep the sensor dry.

No amplifier glow and low read noise
The QHY533C produces images without amplifier glow, even during long exposures, and maintains low read noise, making it ideal for deep-sky imaging.

Convenient one-shot color imaging
As a color camera, the QHY533C allows for immediate RGB imaging without the need for separate filters or filter wheels, making it user-friendly and efficient for capturing galaxies and nebulae.
