The Starlight Xpress Maxi USB Filterwheel 7x (50.8 x 50.8)mm, M72 - M72 is designed for astrophotographers who use large format cameras and need a robust, high-capacity filter wheel. It holds up to seven 2-inch square (50.8 x 50.8mm) unmounted filters and features a large 65mm clear aperture with M72 x 1mm threads on both the input and output sides. The built-in off-axis guide assembly is compatible with many guide cameras, especially the Starlight Xpress Lodestar X2, making precise guiding straightforward. The wheel supports several carousel options for different filter sizes and shapes, and unmounted filters can be up to 5mm thick.

 

The Maxi filter wheel uses the same control protocol as smaller SX wheels, and it is powered and controlled via USB, so no external power supply is needed. If you use the serial input, a small battery is required. The standard output adaptor ring is a male M72 x 1mm thread, making it easy to connect directly to cameras like the Trius SX-35 or SX-36.
