The Starlight Xpress USB filter wheel for 5x 2" filters with T-thread (female) and T-thread (male) is a modern, motorized filter wheel designed for astrophotography and advanced imaging. This filter wheel operates entirely from USB power, with its efficient DC gearmotor consuming less than 100mA, so no separate power supply is needed when using USB control. It can also be operated via a serial input or a hand controller, both of which can be powered by a small dry battery.

The wheel is lightweight and slim, featuring a convenient thumbscrew system that allows for easy, tool-free swapping of filter disks. The input threads are female and face the telescope, while the output threads are male and face the camera. A variety of threaded adapters are available, including T2, SCT, M48, M54, M56, and M72, which can be quickly swapped by loosening three stainless screws and removing the adapter flange. Each flange can be rotated to any angle before locking it down, allowing you to orient the wheel and camera as needed.
