This Powermate lens, designed by Al Nagler, uses a four-element optical system to provide sharp images across the entire field and excellent control of aberrations. It is ideal for those who value long eye relief, allowing you to use long focal length eyepieces at high magnification without losing comfort. For example, you can enjoy the sharpness and comfort of a 32mm Plössl eyepiece at up to five times the power.

The Powermate combines a negative doublet with a positive "pupil-correcting" doublet. This four-element design offers the magnification benefits of a Barlow lens while eliminating typical limitations, such as field distortion. The system restores the field rays to their original direction, so the only effect is a pure increase in magnification.
