Vixen Apochromatic refractor AP 115/890 SD115S Sphinx SXP2 Starbook Ten GoTo (62969)

The Vixen SD115S is part of Vixen’s latest series of apochromatic refractors, featuring super-ED (SD) glass for outstanding optical quality. Its redesigned lens element uses FPL-53 glass, which greatly reduces chromatic aberration and provides exceptionally clear, sharp images. When used with the optional SD Reducer HD or SD Flattener HD kits, this telescope can achieve a 44mm image circle, making it ideal for full-frame DSLR astrophotography. The internal baffles are optimized for the M8, further enhancing image quality.

Vixen SD refractors are excellent for both astrophotography and visual observation. The practical flip mirror allows you to connect an eyepiece at a comfortable viewing angle while also attaching a camera. The telescope is compact and lightweight, making it easy to handle and transport.

Sphinx SXP2 Mount:
The Sphinx Professional 2 (SXP2) mount is an advanced version of the classic SXP, offering increased load capacity and improved movement accuracy. This is achieved through a toothed belt drive and large taper roller bearings. The mount chassis is reinforced for greater strength, and the central axis is secured in a fork for high stability. A 6x20 polar finder is pre-installed for precise polar alignment in both hemispheres, featuring a variable illuminated reticle with automatic shut-off and eight brightness levels. The mount head includes eight M8 threaded holes for flexible attachment of rails from various manufacturers. The counterweight bar uses the same standard diameter as other Sphinx mounts and can be slid into the housing for transport.

The SXP2 mount comes with the Star Book Ten controller, which is included as standard and features a multilingual database. This controller is not compatible with earlier Star Book models.

SX-HAL130 Aluminium Tripod:
The tripod features strong aluminium legs and a large mounting area for SX and SXD mounts, ensuring excellent stability and minimal vibration—ideal for astrophotography. The tripod height is adjustable from 81 to 130 cm, and it weighs only 5.5 kg, making it easy to transport.
