The B-380 series upright laboratory microscopes are designed for intensive routine work and advanced teaching. All controls, including stage drive, fine focus, and brightness adjustment, are positioned for maximum comfort, supporting long hours of use. Optika's ALC system further enhances working conditions by providing automatic light control.

Optical System and Objectives

Microscopes in the B-380 series are available with two optical systems: standard 160 mm or infinity-corrected (IOS). The eyepieces provide a 20 mm field of view, while the tube lens focal length is 180 mm and the objective parfocal length is 45 mm. The microscope uses infinity-corrected N-PLAN objectives:

• 4x/0.10, working distance 16.8 mm

• 10x/0.25, working distance 5.8 mm

• 40x/0.65, working distance 0.43 mm

• 100x/1.25 (oil/water), working distance 0.13 mm

Microscope Stand

Modern, ergonomic design in die-cast aluminum ensures stability. Coaxial coarse and fine focusing with 0.002 mm graduation and adjustable tension. The system includes a preset stop to prevent accidental contact between the objective and specimen.

Microscope Head

Trinocular head rotates 360° and is inclined at 30° for comfortable viewing. The interpupillary distance is adjustable from 48 to 75 mm, with diopter compensation available on the left eyepiece.

Illumination

The X-LED3 illumination system uses a high-efficiency LED and optical lens, delivering light output equivalent to a 50 W halogen bulb but at only 3.6 W consumption. The system provides a white light color temperature of 6300 K and is expected to last up to 50,000 hours. Light intensity is controlled with a rheostat on the left side of the base.

Stage

The mechanical stage measures 233 x 147 mm, features a two-layer, scratch-resistant surface, and offers a travel range of 78 x 54 mm. Vernier scales on both axes provide accuracy to 0.1 mm.

Revolving Nosepiece

The ball-bearing revolver accommodates up to five objectives.

Condenser

The condenser is Abbe type, fold-out, with N.A. 1.25, can be centered and focused, and includes an iris diaphragm.
