The B-383LD is an advanced laboratory microscope designed for both brightfield and LED fluorescence observation. This model is particularly suited for applications such as routine lab work and rapid diagnosis of diseases like malaria and tuberculosis, using acridine-orange staining techniques.

Observation Modes
Brightfield and LED fluorescence modes are available, providing versatility for various laboratory needs.

Illumination and Filters
Epi-illumination is provided by a high-power blue LED with brightness control. The three-position filter holder includes a blue excitation filter as standard.

Microscope Head
Trinocular head is inclined at 30° and can be rotated 360°. The fixed 50/50 light split supports both visual observation and imaging. Interpupillary distance is adjustable from 48 to 75 mm, and there is diopter adjustment on the left eyepiece tube.

Eyepieces and Objectives
Widefield 10x/20 mm eyepieces provide a comfortable high eye point and are secured by screws. The revolving nosepiece accommodates up to five objectives and rotates smoothly on ball bearings. The set includes four IOS N-PLAN objectives, all treated for anti-fungus protection:

  • 4x/0.10, W.D. 16.8 mm

  • 10x/0.25, W.D. 5.8 mm

  • 40x/0.65, W.D. 0.43 mm

  • 100x/1.25 (oil/water), W.D. 0.13 mm

Sample Stage
The mechanical stage is double-layer and rackless, measuring 233 x 147 mm, with an X-Y movement range of 78 x 54 mm. Vernier scales on both axes offer accuracy to 0.1 mm.

Focusing System
Coaxial coarse and fine focusing, with adjustable tension and a preset stop to prevent contact between the objective and the specimen.

Condenser
Abbe condenser N.A. 1.25, with focus adjustment, centering, and an objective-coded iris diaphragm for optimal illumination control.

Transmitted Illumination
Köhler-type fixed illumination with the X-LED3 white LED, providing 3.6 W (equivalent to a 35 W lamp) and a color temperature of 6300 K. Illumination intensity can be adjusted and the microscope is powered by an external supply (100–240 Vac/6 Vdc).

Fluorescence Capability
LED fluorescence illumination is ideal for viewing fluorochromes such as Acridine Yellow, Acridine Orange, Auramine, DiO, DTAF, FITC, GFP, and YFP. The system provides rapid, efficient fluorescence without warm-up time or lamp replacement.

Diagnostic Support
This microscope is a valuable tool for malaria and tuberculosis diagnosis, enabling quick results with the acridine-orange staining method. For optimal imaging in these applications, the optional W-PLAN 50x/0.75 objective (without cover glass) is recommended.
