The iOptron iAFS is one of the most advanced and versatile electronic focusers available, designed for precision, strength, and reliability. Equipped with iLock™ technology, it mounts directly along the optical axis, eliminating the need for bulky external brackets that can introduce unwanted tilt or alignment errors.

Patented lead screw design
At the heart of the iAFS is a patented lead screw mechanism, providing a passive position locking system that securely holds heavy astrophotographic setups and imaging trains in place. This system maintains perfect focus even when the telescope is tilted, ensuring stability during long imaging sessions or when operating under varying angles.

Flexible focusing control
The iAFS offers three focusing modes, a USB interface for computer-based control, and built-in direction buttons for precise manual adjustments. A manual focus wheel allows disengagement of the motorized mechanism, enabling rapid coarse focusing over long distances before fine-tuning electronically—ideal for both setup and precision work.

High precision and robust construction
The focuser features multiple USB-C ports, a temperature sensor, and an automatic position limit to prevent mechanical overtravel. Its all-metal housing provides durability and a dirt-resistant surface finish for long-term reliability. The focusing accuracy reaches 0.6 microns, and the larger 3-inch version offers an exceptional 0.4-micron precision, meeting the highest astrophotography demands.

Versatile connectivity
A 2-inch connection comes standard, allowing the attachment of cameras with 2-inch barrels. Additional screw-type adapters for various telescope models and imaging configurations are available separately.
