33 MP Exmor R BSI CMOS Sensor
The FX2 pairs a 33 MP back-illuminated Exmor R sensor with the BIONZ XR processor to deliver detailed 4K video with smooth gradations, natural color, and low noise in both full-frame and Super 35 modes. This provides excellent lens flexibility without sacrificing resolution. In full-frame mode, the camera uses 7K oversampling with full pixel readout for exceptional sharpness and realism. With more than 15 stops of dynamic range, an ISO range expandable up to 204,800, and updated dual-base ISO technology for S-Log3 at 800 or 4000 ISO, the FX2 is ready for a wide variety of lighting conditions.

DCI 4K Video Recording and Formats
The FX2 can record DCI 4K internally with 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling, or output 16-bit RAW video over HDMI to an external recorder. It supports XAVC HS, XAVC S, and XAVC S-I formats, with Long GOP, All-Intra, H.264, and H.265 codecs for efficient and flexible workflows. Color and tone can be fine-tuned using up to 16 imported user LUTs or by using S-Cinetone to match the look of VENICE, FX9, FX6, FX3, and other Sony cameras. A Variable FPS setting allows for in-camera time-lapse and slow-motion creation, and the camera can de-squeeze 1.3x and 2.0x anamorphic footage directly on the display for easier monitoring.
