The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is a full-frame mirrorless camera designed for creators who shoot both photos and video. A new 24.2 MP CMOS sensor works with the DIGIC X processor to deliver fast autofocus, 4K 60p 10-bit video, and rapid continuous shooting. The body has also been refined with a redesigned top plate for more intuitive access to photo and video modes.

24.2 MP full-frame sensor and DIGIC X processor

• The 24.2 MP full-frame CMOS sensor provides a well-balanced resolution that works equally well for stills and video, with excellent colour and strong low-light performance.

• The DIGIC X processor (also used in the EOS R3) handles high-speed bursts and high-resolution 4K recording.

• Continuous shooting is possible at up to 40 fps with the silent electronic shutter or up to 12 fps with the mechanical shutter, with AF and AE calculations before each frame.

• A 30 fps RAW Burst mode with pre-release capture can record moments up to 0.5 seconds before the shutter is fully pressed.

• ISO sensitivity ranges from 100–102,400 (expandable to ISO 50–204,800), allowing you to work confidently in very low light.

UHD 4K video and external 6K RAW

• Internal UHD 4K 60p recording uses the full width of the sensor and supports 10-bit recording with Canon Log 3 for flexible grading.

• A 6K capture area can be oversampled down to 4K 30p for sharper detail, reduced moiré and lower noise.

• Slow-motion recording is available up to 180p in Full HD for smooth playback at reduced speed.

• HDR-PQ recording is supported for in-camera HDR and external HDR workflows.

• Unlimited recording time is possible, and the camera includes microphone and headphone ports plus a multi-function shoe for advanced accessories.

• Via the micro-HDMI port, you can output clean 6K at up to 60 fps to a compatible external recorder.

• External ProRes RAW recording is supported up to 6K 60p using the full sensor area, or 3.7K RAW with a crop.

Autofocus and image stabilisation

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

• The advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system provides 1053 automatic AF points covering virtually the entire sensor area.

• This phase-detection AF is fast, responsive and precise, with deep-learning subject recognition for people, animals and vehicles.

• The camera can track subjects automatically, keeping them in sharp focus even during high-speed bursts and video recording.

• AF works down to approximately −6.5 EV, making it reliable even in very dark environments.

In-body image stabiliser

• The 5-axis in-body image stabiliser (IBIS) compensates for up to 7 stops of camera shake when shooting handheld.

• When combined with RF lenses that feature optical stabilisation, total stabilisation can reach up to 8 stops, depending on the lens.

• Movie Digital IS can be added on top of optical and sensor-shift stabilisation to further smooth handheld video and walking shots.

Body design and handling

EVF and vari-angle LCD

• The 0.5" OLED electronic viewfinder has a resolution of 3.69 million dots and offers a clear, detailed eye-level view with a fast 120 fps refresh rate for natural motion.

• The rear 3.0" articulating touchscreen LCD has 1.62 million dots and can be tilted and rotated for front-facing filming, low-angle and high-angle shooting.

Controls and ergonomics

• Four main control dials and an integrated joystick give direct tactile control over exposure and focus, enabling fast adjustments without leaving the viewfinder.

• The top plate layout has been refined, moving the On/Off switch and photo/video mode selector into more convenient positions.

• The body is dust- and moisture-resistant, making it suitable for everyday professional use and outdoor shooting in challenging weather.

Storage and workflow

• Dual SD card slots provide flexibility for backups, RAW/JPEG separation or stills/video separation.
