People, dogs, cats, birds, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, bicycles and trains.
Versatile Shooting Features
Pre-Release Capture
Pre-Release Capture helps you confidently capture the decisive moment. When you half-press the shutter button, the camera begins buffering images. JPEG files can be saved from up to one second before and up to three seconds after the shutter button is fully pressed.
High-Impact Portraits
-
Skin Softening – Smooths skin while keeping eyes and hair sharply in focus. Works for up to three subjects in the frame.

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/4 S Lens
The NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/4 S is a versatile standard zoom lens that covers focal lengths from wide-angle to portrait. Its constant f/4 maximum aperture gives consistent exposure across the zoom range while keeping the lens relatively compact and lightweight compared to f/2.8 zooms.
The optical design includes a unique aspherical extra-low dispersion element and three aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, distortion, coma and flare, delivering high sharpness and clarity throughout the zoom range. Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating reduce flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color, even in bright or backlit situations.
A stepping motor provides fast, quiet and precise autofocus, with full-time manual focus override for both stills and video work. The lens uses an internal focusing design so its physical length remains the same during focusing, which supports better handling and faster AF performance. A programmable control ring is set by default to manual focus but can be re-assigned to adjust aperture or exposure compensation. A specialized electromagnetic diaphragm ensures stable exposure during high-speed continuous shooting. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces smooth, pleasing bokeh.
The front elements feature a fluorine coating that helps repel dust, dirt and moisture, making the lens easier to clean. The barrel is dust- and moisture-resistant for use in challenging weather. A button-less retractable design lets the lens collapse for a more compact size when not in use.
Key points:
-
Standard zoom for FX-format Z-mount cameras, covering wide-angle to portrait range.
-
Constant f/4 maximum aperture across the zoom range.
-
Advanced optical design with aspherical and ED elements for edge-to-edge sharpness and reduced aberrations.
-
Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating for reduced flare and ghosting.
-
Stepping-motor autofocus with full-time manual override and internal focusing.
-
Programmable control ring for focus, aperture, or exposure compensation.
-
Electromagnetic diaphragm for consistent exposure in high-speed bursts.
-
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm for attractive background blur.
-
Fluorine coating on exposed elements and dust- and moisture-resistant construction.
-
Retractable design for a compact form factor when stored.
