The objective lenses are manufactured from fluorite, a highly transparent mineral that performs consistently across a wide wavelength range. Fluorite does not exhibit autofluorescence or birefringence and provides correction of the secondary spectrum. A high numerical aperture increases resolving power, producing images in the eyepieces and through a digital camera that are brighter, cleaner, and higher in contrast than those obtained with standard plan achromatic objectives.

Description

The plan semi-apochromatic fluorescent objective is designed for both transmitted-light and fluorescence microscopy. The objective lenses are manufactured from fluorite, a highly transparent mineral that performs consistently across a wide wavelength range. Fluorite does not exhibit autofluorescence or birefringence and provides correction of the secondary spectrum. A high numerical aperture increases resolving power, producing images in the eyepieces and through a digital camera that are brighter, cleaner, and higher in contrast than those obtained with standard plan achromatic objectives.

Optical performance

Plan semi-apochromatic objectives correct chromatic aberration for four colors, spherical aberration for three colors, and field curvature over 90% of the field of view diameter. The 4x and 10x objectives are suitable for specimens with or without a coverslip. The 20x, 40x, and 100x objectives are intended for use with a 0.17 mm coverslip, and the 100x objective supports oil immersion. All objectives are designed for infinity-corrected optical systems and have a parfocal distance of 60 mm.

Use in fluorescence microscopy

To perform fluorescence observation, fluorescent objectives are installed in the revolving nosepiece in place of standard objectives, and an epi-fluorescence attachment is mounted between the microscope head and the stand. When used for transmitted-light observation, fluorescent objectives increase resolving power while reducing depth of field.

Compatibility

These objectives are compatible with the MAGUS Bio 260T, MAGUS Bio DH260, MAGUS Bio 270T, and MAGUS Bio 290T biological microscopes.

The package includes five infinity-corrected plan semi-apochromatic fluorescent objectives: a 4x/0.13 objective with a 17 mm working distance, a 10x/0.30 objective with a 16 mm working distance, a 20x/0.50 objective with a 2.7 mm working distance, a 40x/0.75 objective with a 1.4 mm working distance, and a 100x/1.30 oil immersion objective with a 0.18 mm working distance. All objectives have a parfocal distance of 60 mm.
